Freight rate table for Venezuela 2026: what a truck costs and how the price is built

Venezuela freight rates 2026: what Fletes GAG, Mundo Everest and independent truckers charge, and Transporte Mundial's reference rates per km, per truck and per kilo.

Anyone searching for a freight rate table wants to know what moving their cargo will cost before calling anyone. Venezuela has no official tariff for road freight: each carrier sets its own based on distance, truck type, diesel and tolls. This guide compares what the main operators that publish prices charge today, explains how a freight rate is built, and presents our 2026 reference tariff with examples from Valencia.

If you already have the weight, dimensions and destination, skip the reading and request a freight transport quote: we reply the same day with a firm price.

What a "flete" is

In Venezuelan freight, a flete is the price paid to move goods from one point to another in a vehicle, and by extension the trip itself: hiring a flete means hiring a truck for a move. The word covers both a full truck (a Valencia – Caracas run in a 750) and the per-kilo rate of a consolidated load. Freight fletes are not removals or parcel services: they move company goods, with an invoice and a dispatch guide.

How a freight rate is calculated in Venezuela

A road freight price has four parts:

  1. The unit. A 350 truck costs less per trip than a trailer but carries ten times less. Choosing the right vehicle is the decision that weighs most on the price; we explain it in how to choose the right vehicle for heavy freight.
  2. Outbound kilometres. Most carriers charge for the outbound distance and absorb the return, except on routes with no return cargo.
  3. Trip costs. Diesel, tolls, weigh stations, driver allowances and, on long routes, relays or an overnight stop. In 2026 diesel runs about 1.80 USD per litre on the parallel market according to RELY's truck operating cost analysis: a 5-tonne truck burns about 0.26 USD per kilometre in fuel alone and a tractor-trailer between 0.55 and 0.63 USD. Tolls and weigh-station fees rose again in May 2026 (1,820 bolívares per pass for a 350 and 2,100 for a 750, per the INTT announcement); we cover it in what October 2026 brought for freight transport.
  4. Type of service. Full truckload (the truck is yours) or consolidated (you share the space and pay per kilo).

VAT is added to that base price. An exclusive trip between two points rarely has hidden surcharges; the ones that appear are for waiting at unloading, extra handling or a change of destination.

What the market charges in 2026

On October 26, 2026 we gathered the public prices of the operators that publish them. They are for orientation; none of them is our tariff.

Fletes GAG (parcels and freight, 80+ destinations) publishes a tariff valid from May 1, 2026 per kilo and destination zone, departing from Maracay (Valencia and Caracas are zone 2, Barquisimeto zone 4, Maracaibo and Puerto La Cruz zone 5, Puerto Ordaz zone 8):

Shipment weight Caracas / Valencia Barquisimeto Maracaibo / Pto. La Cruz Puerto Ordaz
100 to 200 kg 0.76 USD/kg 0.90 USD/kg 0.97 USD/kg 1.18 USD/kg
500 to 600 kg 0.46 USD/kg 0.55 USD/kg 0.59 USD/kg 0.70 USD/kg
900 to 1,000 kg 0.33 USD/kg 0.39 USD/kg 0.42 USD/kg 0.50 USD/kg

Its full-truck table, still published with an October 2021 date, charges 634 USD for an NPR to zone 2, 950 USD to zone 5 and 1,135 USD to zone 8; for a 750, 739, 1,135 and 1,373 USD.

Mundo Everest publishes a per-kilometre rate for 2026: 1-tonne panel van 1.50 USD/km (minimum 50 USD), 5-tonne truck 2.50 USD/km (minimum 100), 12-tonne truck 3.50 USD/km (minimum 200) and trailer 4.50 USD/km (minimum 300), before VAT. For Valencia – Caracas that gives 400 USD in a 5-tonne truck, 560 in a 12-tonne truck and 720 in a trailer.

Independent truckers advertise lower prices on social media, usually without cargo insurance, GPS or an invoice: NPR and 750 trucks from 90 and 150 USD on short runs out of Caracas, and a pick-up truck tariff of 80 to 100 USD Caracas – Maracay and 150 to 180 USD Caracas – Valencia. An NPR run between Acarigua and Valencia gets offered for as little as 200 USD.

Parcel companies such as Tealca charge per kilo and distance band; they only make sense for packages of a few kilos.

Our 2026 reference tariff

With that data we set a reference that sits below the formal tariffs and above the informal offers, because it includes our own fleet, an in-house driver, GPS tracking, an invoice and delivery confirmation. The exact price of your trip is confirmed when you request a quote, depending on the date, availability and return cargo.

Unit Capacity Reference rate per outbound km Minimum per trip
350 truck up to 3,500 kg 1.20 to 1.60 USD 60 USD
750 / NPR truck up to 7,500 kg 1.70 to 2.20 USD 100 USD
12-tonne truck up to 12,000 kg 2.60 to 3.20 USD 180 USD
Trailer (flatbed, drop-side or box) up to 30,000 kg 3.60 to 4.40 USD 280 USD

Prices before VAT. The minimum applies on short routes: a 750 truck for a 20 km move inside Valencia does not cost 40 dollars, it costs the unit minimum, because loading and unloading time weighs more than distance.

Consolidated cargo: price per kilo

When your goods do not fill a truck, they travel on a consolidated trip and you pay per kilo. Our reference from Valencia, with a 40 USD minimum per shipment:

Shipment weight Caracas / Maracay Barquisimeto / Maracaibo / Pto. La Cruz Puerto Ordaz / San Cristóbal
100 to 300 kg 0.55 to 0.70 USD/kg 0.75 to 0.95 USD/kg 0.90 to 1.10 USD/kg
500 to 1,000 kg 0.30 to 0.45 USD/kg 0.45 to 0.60 USD/kg 0.55 to 0.70 USD/kg
Over 1,000 kg 0.25 to 0.35 USD/kg 0.35 to 0.45 USD/kg 0.40 to 0.50 USD/kg

Light but bulky goods (packaging, furniture, plastics) are quoted by the space they take, not by weight.

Worked examples from Valencia

Using the reference tariff and the outbound kilometres of each route, these are the orders of magnitude before VAT:

Route Outbound km 750 truck 12 t truck Trailer
Valencia – Caracas 160 270 to 350 USD 420 to 510 USD 580 to 700 USD
Valencia – Barquisimeto 215 370 to 470 USD 560 to 690 USD 770 to 950 USD
Valencia – Maracaibo 520 880 to 1,140 USD 1,350 to 1,660 USD 1,870 to 2,290 USD
Valencia – Puerto Ordaz 650 1,100 to 1,430 USD 1,690 to 2,080 USD 2,340 to 2,860 USD

For comparison: a full 750 Valencia – Caracas costs 400 USD at Mundo Everest's per-kilometre rate and 739 USD in Fletes GAG's 2021 table, while informal offers on social media run 150 to 250 USD without insurance or GPS. Our 270 to 350 USD reference sits in between, with everything included. We detail a partial load on that route in how much it costs to ship freight from Valencia to Caracas.

What pushes the price up or down

  • Return cargo. If the carrier finds cargo for the way back, the outbound price drops. Routes to Caracas, Maracay and Puerto Cabello almost always have it; routes to the Andes or Guayana not always.
  • Waiting time. Every hour the truck waits to load or unload is time off the road. Agree the window with the consignee before confirming the trip.
  • Type of goods. Palletised cargo that goes in with a forklift moves fast; loose pieces handled by hand cost more in loading time. Fragile or high-value goods may need a closed box truck and extra insurance.
  • Urgency. An immediate departure outside the route calendar is priced differently from a scheduled one.
  • Holidays and restrictions. The INTT restricts heavy vehicles on long holidays; a trip that must leave just before or after may change price because of unit availability.

How to request a quote that comes back with the right price

Send these five details and you will get a firm price the same day:

  1. Exact origin and destination (address or landmark).
  2. Type of goods and how they are packed (pallets, bundles, boxes, loose pieces).
  3. Total weight and the dimensions of the largest pieces.
  4. Whether there is a forklift or crane at origin and destination.
  5. The date it needs to leave.

With that we propose the unit, the transit time and the price. If your cargo exceeds 3,500 kg per piece or needs a flatbed, go straight to the heavy freight transport quote. If you ship from Carabobo, see our freight transport in Valencia page too.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an official freight rate table in Venezuela? No. Industry chambers publish cost references and each company sets its own tariff. The tables circulating online are the price lists of specific companies, several dated 2021 or 2024.

Does the rate include VAT? The prices in this guide do not. In the quote we show it separately.

Do you charge per kilometre, per trip or per kilo? For a full load the price is per trip, calculated from the kilometres and the unit. Consolidated cargo is quoted per kilo, with a minimum per shipment.

Why does an independent trucker charge less? Because the price usually leaves out cargo insurance, GPS tracking, a tax invoice and anyone accountable if the goods arrive damaged. Compare what each price includes before choosing by the number.
